Chris started in the mining industry in 1990 and co-founded Reed Resources in 2001. Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Notre Dame and a Graduate Certificate in Mineral Economics from WA School of Mines. He is a Member of the AusIMM and immediate past Vice-President of the Association of Mining & Exploration Companies.
Chris is a business leader with over 30 years’ international experience, spanning primarily the financial services, clean energy, oil and gas, and resources sectors. Key accountabilities have included corporate finance; business development; strategy; transformation; risk management; and stakeholder relations.
At Deutsche Bank and ABN AMRO Rothschild, Chris delivered multiple financing solutions in the UK, EMEA, and Australasia. As COO Europe for Global Banking at HSBC, Chris led the delivery of transformation programs and risk management. More recently, as CEO and CFO at Tokamak Energy, he led the design and implementation of technology development, funding and partnership strategies.
Chris holds degrees in law, economics and finance.
Michael Tamlin is Neometals’ Head of Lithium. He is responsible for the development and commercialisation of Neometals’ Lithium Refinery and Lithium Ion Battery Recycling projects. Mike has a degree in Metallurgy and more than 30 years’ experience in metals industries covering lithium, tantalum, vanadium, base metals, industrial minerals and chemicals. His lithium experience covers the development of the global chemical and technical spodumene market, hard rock and brine lithium projects in Australia, China, South America and Canada. He has a strong track record in maximising commercial performance, developing and implementing strategy and brings experience in the development of lithium projects, lithium supply negotiation, lithium markets and management at executive level.
Jenny has more than 30 years of global management and leadership experience spanning operational, business improvement and corporate roles in the mining, energy, heavy manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. She brings a strong balance of operational, commercial, and technical skills to her current role as BHP’s Olympic Dam Asset President and the capability to combine strategy with project execution.
Jenny’s last role was the Executive General Manager, Gas Distribution at Jemena, where she led the gas distribution business in New South Wales. She has previously held senior leadership positions with Adani Renewables, Rio Tinto and Alcoa.
Throughout her career, she has developed strong skills in managing people, health and safety, community and stakeholder relationships, environment and reducing costs.
Jenny holds a Bachelor and PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Auckland and an Executive MBA from Mt Eliza Business School. She graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors course with Honours.
In 2019, Jenny was named ‘Exceptional Woman 2019’ at the Minerals Council of Australia Women in Resources National Awards.
Darren is a Mining Engineer with 25+ years development, mining and corporate experience including managing ASX and TSX listed companies. His experience includes developing and operating tantalum mines in Australia (Wodgina) and Mozambique and the resource drill out and permitting a world class niobium and rare earth project in Kenya.
Mr. Reiche has a unique skill set and extensive experience exclusively derived from the automotive technology, LiB, and LiB recycling sector. Over the course of his 20-year career, he has been actively engaged in pioneering automotive electrification and battery recycling initiatives for Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen. Moreover, Mr. Reiche has developed a deep understanding of battery raw materials projects on a global scale, collaborating with various stakeholders across the entire battery value chain.
Christian currently heads the Neometals LiB Recycling business, incorporating the Primobius Joint Venture with the SMS Group. Primobius has a demonstration plant in Germany and is developing projects with Mercedes-Benz in Germany and Stelco Inc. in Canada.
Jeremy has 20+ years’ experience in the technology materials and minerals sectors. Prior to Neometals, Jeremy has occupied business development roles in the energy transition space and held earlier corporate finance and funding advisory positions in the investment banking and accounting sectors. Having attained MBA and postgraduate finance and governance qualifications, Jeremy’s experience spans strategy, ESG and IP management, corporate communications, innovation development and capital markets.
Dave has more than 20 years industry experience in Anglo American/Anglo Platinum working at and supporting numerous operations including being responsible for PGM refining technology development and application at the Rustenburg PMR. In addition, Dave more recently spent 12 years managing CSIRO hydrometallurgical research and related industry liaison. He is currently responsible for managing: i) metallurgy programs targeting flowsheet development and optimisation, ii) project technology development and associated research programs and iii) group intellectual property management. Dave holds a Ph.D., M.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons) and M.B.A.
Casper has over 15 years in complex process operating plant environments ranging from downstream oil refining, synthetic rutile production, gold processing and activated carbon production. Casper has worked with leading mineral and resource companies Iluka Resources, BP, WorleyParsons and KCGM in processing and operational roles. Most recently Casper spent 4 years as the Processing Manager at Iluka’s Synthetic Rutile Operation in Western Australia. Casper holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) with First Class Honours, and a Bachelor of Science (Applied Chemistry) and is a chartered member of IChemE.
Irena holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and worked in minerals and metals industry for over 20 years. Her commodity experience covers copper, nickel, cobalt, uranium, vanadium, magnetite / hematite and gold. Irena has extensive expertise in process design, technology implementation, project and engineering management and team development, gained through her roles in international engineering houses, such as Hatch, Fluor, Tetra Tech and, most recently, Ausenco, as a General Manager Minerals and Metals for APAC / Africa.
Irena is a Fellow of AusIMM (CP) and is presently a member of the Consultants Society (ConSoc) Committee.
Mark is a senior in-house lawyer with extensive experience managing complex matters of corporate, commercial and operational significance in the energy and resources sector. Before joining Neometals in June 2022, Mark was Corporate Counsel, Pilbara Operations at Rio Tinto prior to which he worked in private practice at leading international law firms Jones Day and Norton Rose Fulbright in Australia and Canada.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Notre Dame Australia, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.
